Music producer Greg Wells engaged nonzero\architecture to design and build his personal studio at his residence, to complement his live room at another location. Celebrated most recently for his work on the movie ‘Wicked’, he has also worked with Katy Perry, Adele, Dua Lipa, Celine Dion and Twenty One Pilots, among many others. The highly isolated and shielded studio is equipped with an Atmos sound system and houses many of the owner’s unique, personalized equipment pieces. The space takes advantage of all the available height and floor area and is aesthetically inspired by wood diffuser strips that were already in possession of the owner. The warm wood tones complement the unique collection of vintage instruments and recording equipment. Tragically, both the studio and the residence it was attached to were lost in the 2025 Palisades Fire.
