NBCU Hitchcock Mix Stage

NBCU Stage 6 – The Hitchcock Theatre

Studio City, California

The replacement of the original Alfred Hitchcock Theatre, an aging yet beloved sound mixing stage, was driven by its impending demolition and by the need to upgrade and improve the space for contemporary uses. The new stage, completed by nonzero\architecture, retained the same iconic name, and was placed in a 1930’s sound stage. Challenges of building in an old structure and on difficult soil had to be overcome, but the resulting facility turned out to be well worth the effort. The new larger and much improved stage features enhanced Auro, IMAX and Dolby Atmos sound and brilliant picture quality. A spacious layout and added client amenities, all near other postproduction services, resulted in a state-of-the-art facility, while preserving the historic legacy on the legendary movie lot.
